LOS ANGELES – Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors Chair Hilda L. Solis released the following statement after learning of the second round of funding from the Federal Emergency Rent Assistance Program.

“As Chair of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, I am deeply moved by the efforts of President Joe Biden’s administration to lead our country with compassion and dignity during this devastating pandemic. This administration fully understands that in order to build back better, we must ensure that no resident gets left behind, especially our most vulnerable.

That is why I am incredibly grateful to President Joe Biden and his administration for allocating an additional $211.8 million dollars for rent relief efforts in Los Angeles County.

This funding could not come at a more critical moment. In Los Angeles County, we have entered the yellow tier and with more businesses re-opening, we are now preparing for an economic recovery from the pandemic. This funding will ensure that we have an inclusive and equitable approach to Los Angeles County’s recovery from the pandemic by providing much needed financial assistance to rent-burdened communities, including many in the First District.

In the meantime, if you are a tenant or a landlord who has been financially impacted by the pandemic, I encourage you to seek assistance at HousingIsKey.com or call 833-430-2122. Assistance is available in multiple languages and with this additional funding there will be even more financial assistance available to those who need it.”
