LOS ANGELES, CA – Los Angeles County Chair Pro Tem Hilda L. Solis released the following statement congratulating Joe Biden and Kamala Harris as President-elect and Vice President-elect of the United States of America:
“The voters have spoken, and they have chosen Joe Biden to serve as the 46th President of the United States – breaking the record for most votes ever in a presidential election. Having served with the President-elect previously, I know his work ethic and values are what will heal and unite this nation.
A daughter of California, Kamala Harris has been elected Vice President of the United States, becoming America’s first woman vice president-elect.
This is a win for our communities, for the people across this nation, and for the world at-large.
I am proud of the outreach and mobilization efforts to turn out Latinx voters as the Co-Chair of the California DNC Delegation and National Co-Chair for the Biden campaign’s Latino Leadership Council.
As the incoming Chair for the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, I look forward to working with the Biden-Harris administration to combat the on-going COVID-19 pandemic, tackle our homelessness crisis, create green jobs, and fight to protect our immigrant communities.
Congratulations, Mr. President-elect and Madam Vice President-elect.
A new day has dawned in America.”
