Los Angeles, CA – Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors Chair Hilda L. Solis, Supervisor to the First District, released the following statement after the Board of Supervisors unanimously approved her motion to ensure the County follows and supports President Biden’s “Path Out of the Pandemic” plan for recovery:
“This motion follows the bold action of President Biden to end this pandemic once and for all,” shared Chair Solis. “To really put COVID-19 behind us, we need to make sure that we aren’t just reacting, but that we continue to act proactively and decisively to put protections in place – and that is exactly what the President’s plan does. With today’s action, the County reaffirms its commitment to work with our federal partners to get this terrible virus under control and get us back to building to our new normal.”
On September 9, 2021, President Biden issued a COVID-19 action plan entitled: “Path Out of the Pandemic.” The plan focuses on the following six pillars aiming to save lives, end the physical, emotional, and economic suffering caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, and avoid further closures of businesses, schools, and social outlets: 1. Vaccinating the Unvaccinated; 2. Further Protecting the Vaccinated; 3. Keeping Schools Safely Open; 4. Increasing Testing and Requiring Masking; 5. Protecting Our Economic Recovery; and 6. Improving Care for Those with COVID-19.
The motion approved today directs County departments and agencies, including the Chief Executive Office, Public Health, Health Services, Consumer and Business Affairs, and County Counsel, to work in concert so that the County conforms with and supports the President’s plan.
