Los Angeles County Supervisor Hilda L. Solis released the following statement after the Board of Supervisors authorized $245,000 of Proposition A funding for a new heating and air conditioning system at City Terrace Park:

“I am working hard to invest in our local communities to ensure that every resident gets their fair share of County funds and resources. By installing the first-ever air conditioning system at City Terrace Park, we will be able to expand our indoor programming during the summer months and provide local residents with opportunities to play indoor sports without anyone risking heat exhaustion.

“With this new air conditioning system, we will also offer local residents a new Cooling Center during extremely hot days, which will minimize chances that children or older adults may experience heat stress. Today’s allocation of $245,000 will ensure that the LA County Department of Parks and Recreation will have a total of $695,000 to establish a new Cooling Center in City Terrace. I am excited to bring this project to City Terrace.”
