LOS ANGELES – Today, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved the re-appointment of Helen Romero Shaw, Public Affairs Manager of Southern California Gas Company to the Los Angeles County Older Adults Commission (LACCOA).

“With a vision to provide quality services that enhance the overall health and well-being of older residents, I am proud to re-appoint Helen Romero Shaw to the Los Angeles County Older Adults Commission,” shared Chair Solis. “Through the past six years, she has demonstrated a commitment to serve older residents with the resources they need to fulfill their physical, social and economic needs. I have no doubt she will continue in these efforts to bring even more accessible programming and services to this population.”

As Public Affairs Manager for the Southern California Gas Company, Helen Romero Shaw is responsible for the management of Public Affairs and Government Relations functions for thirteen cities in the West San Gabriel Valley. Prior to joining SoCalGas, Helen was an Agency Relations/Planning Associate with the Los Angeles United Way. She is a graduate of California State University, Northridge and received a Certificate in Management Effectiveness from the USC School of Business.

The mission of LACCOA is to advocate, advise and make recommendations regarding the needs and welfare of Los Angeles County seniors age 60 and older, to the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors and departments of County government and other entities that provide services to seniors regarding their needs, health, well-being, and rights.
