Los Angeles County Supervisor Hilda L. Solis released the following statement in response to the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors passing her motion to lift all fees at LA County parks and botanical gardens for active duty service members and Veterans to thank them for their selfless service:

“Throughout the year, and especially as Veterans Day approaches, we all should pay tribute to the sacrifices made by our courageous Veterans. We would not have the freedoms we enjoy today without the sacrifices of generations of Veterans and our current active duty service members. I am pleased that the Board of Supervisors passed my motion today to lift all fees at County regional park facilities and botanic gardens for active duty service members, Veterans, and their families, as a way to thank these brave women and men for their service to our country. This fee waiver will be in effect from November 12 through 19. I invite all Veterans, military personnel, and their families to visit our beautiful County parks and gardens during this time and throughout the year.”
