Los Angeles, Calif. – Today, Supervisor Hilda L. Solis praised Gov. Jerry Brown for signing AB 530, which creates a working group to revitalize the Lower Los Angeles River. Assemblyman Anthony Rendon (D-Lakewood) authored AB 530.

“This stretch of the Los Angeles River is comprised of many cities and businesses that, at one point in history, served as the industrial belt for Los Angeles County. Today, the Lower Los Angeles River is comprised of vacant lots with contamination, but many are determined to breathe new life into this area,” said Supervisor Solis.

“AB 530 will bring government and community groups together so they can collaborate to reinvigorate the Lower Los Angeles River,” said Supervisor Solis. “Thank you Speaker-Elect Rendon and Governor Brown for giving us the opportunity to create a new vision for the Lower Los Angeles River.”
