LOS ANGELES, CA – Los Angeles County Supervisor Hilda L. Solis released the following statement after the Board of Supervisors approved her motion directing the Department of Health Services to report back with progress on the newly launched mobile testing and in-home testing community-based testing pilot programs, metrics demonstrating reach and capacity of these initiatives, and working in collaboration with the Chief Executive Office, a summary of the funding available and needed to continue the community testing programs in 2021:

“People with disabilities, older adults, and those without access to transportation, continue to face barriers to reach COVID-19 community testing sites,” said Supervisor Solis. “In order to equitably distribute resources and ensure access, it is critical that we look at innovative ways to enhance our testing efforts where possible. Today’s motion seeks to bring testing where it is most needed and address the disparities disadvantaged and underserved communities are facing during this pandemic.”
