Growing up in the unincorporated community of Puente Valley, I know firsthand the many disparities that residents in vulnerable communities, especially those without access to parks and open spaces, have to live with. Throughout my public service career, and in partnership with communities, I have led the fight to increase green spaces because I understand and value the benefits they provide for our health, wellness, and the environment.
