Los Angeles, Calif. – Today, Los Angeles County Chair Pro Tem and Supervisor, Hilda L. Solis, appointed three individuals to serve as Commissioners on Los Angeles County commissions: Robert Gin, Los Angeles County Commission on Local Government Services; Belinda Faustinos, Parks and Recreation Commission; and Cassandra Garcia, Puente Hills Habitat Preservation Authority.

“Today’s commission appointees have each demonstrated extraordinary leadership and commitment to First District communities,” said Chair Pro Tem Solis. “It’s vital that our commissions reflect and uplift the voices of community, and I look forward to seeing Bob, Belinda, and Cassandra carry the values of the First District forward.”

“I am truly honored to be appointed to the Los Angeles County Commission on Local Government Services by Chair Pro Tem Solis,” said Bob Gin. “Through my time with the Chinatown Chamber of Commerce, the Golden Dragon Parade, and even as the President of the Alhambra Unified School District, I’ve long understood community is at the core of this work. I’m very much looking forward to working alongside my commission to improve County services to the residents of Los Angeles County.”

“I am grateful to Chair Pro Tem Solis for her vision and leadership in the First District and am looking forward to serving Los Angeles County residents through the Parks and Recreation Commission,” said Belinda Faustinos. “As a longtime advocate for parks and open space, I am eager to contribute to the Commission’s efforts to help ensure that all Angelenos, regardless of background or zip code, can experience and benefit from parks and open spaces.

“I am humbled to be appointed to the Puente Hills Habitat Preservation Authority by Chair Pro Tem Solis,” said Cassandra Garcia. “Here in the East San Gabriel Valley, which covers the unincorporated communities of Hacienda Heights and Rowland Heights, it’s vital to continue protecting our land and rich biodiversity while engaging with community on the rich history and beauty that is found in the Puente Hills. I look forward to contributing to the Habitat Authority and continuing preservation and community engagement efforts.”
