Solis Presents Funding Supporting Older Adult Services in Hacienda Heights

HACIENDA HEIGHTS, Calif. Los Angeles County Board Chair and First District Supervisor Hilda L. Solis on Friday presented a $105,748 check at Steinmetz Park Senior Center in Hacienda Heights to support meals and programming for older adults.

The funding is part of a $1.2 million investment in programs for older adults across the First District, including $143,202 to support meals and programming for older adults who frequent the Rowland Heights Community Center and Carolyn Rosas Park.

“Investments in the meals program at Steinmetz Senior Center help ensure access to nutritious meals while also providing opportunities for older adults to gather and stay engaged,” said Board Chair Solis. “That commitment extends beyond Hacienda Heights, including continued support for programming at the Rowland Heights Community Center and Carolyn Rosas Park, which offers services that promote wellness, social connection, and overall quality of life. These programs are important because they help ensure older adults have consistent access not only to care and nutrition, but also to spaces where they can participate in activities, build relationships, and remain active in their communities.”

The meals program provides daily nutritious meals and serves as a gathering place where older adults can connect, reduce isolation and access supportive services.

The check presentation included older adults, community members, program staff and partners.
