Solis Welcomes Governor Newsom’s State of Emergency Declaration for Lineage Logistics Warehouse Fire

Following Los Angeles County’s local emergency declaration, state resources bolster response efforts for impacted communities

EAST LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Los Angeles County Board Chair and First District Supervisor Hilda L. Solis issued the following statement in response to Governor Gavin Newsom proclaiming a State of Emergency for Los Angeles County in response to the ongoing Lineage Logistics warehouse fire: 

“I welcome Governor Gavin Newsom’s proclamation of a State of Emergency in response to the Lineage Logistics warehouse fire impacting Boyle Heights, unincorporated East Los Angeles, and surrounding communities.

Earlier today, in coordination with the City of Los Angeles, I declared a local emergency for Los Angeles County to help accelerate our response and ensure every available resource is deployed to protect residents, workers, and first responders. Governor Newsom’s action strengthens those efforts by unlocking additional state resources, personnel, and emergency support at a critical time.

I am grateful to the Governor and our state partners for their swift action and continued collaboration. As firefighters continue working around the clock to contain this fire, Los Angeles County remains committed to coordinating closely with city, state, and regional agencies to safeguard public health, support impacted businesses and workers, and ensure affected communities receive the assistance they need throughout response and recovery efforts.
