LOS ANGELES, Calif. The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors today approved the 2025-26 Supplemental Budget, totaling $52.5 billion and nearly 116,000 budgeted positions.

Following the presentation, Chair Pro Tem and First District Supervisor Hilda L. Solis issued the following statement:

“Over the last few months, Los Angeles County has continued to navigate unprecedented challenges, from wildfire recovery to ongoing immigration enforcement, all amid significant fiscal constraints. The County also faces uncertainty from changing federal policies and funding reductions, which threaten our ability to provide essential safety net services to our most vulnerable residents. While these times are difficult, we must meet these fiscal challenges with a firm commitment to support our communities. That is why I strongly urged that the County’s Care First Community Investment Advisory Committee strongly consider allocating $3.6 million to the RepresentLA program to provide legal defense to immigrants facing deportation. I also advocated for continued support for food distribution efforts and the LA County Small Business Resiliency Fund, which I established to assist small businesses affected by recent immigration raids. These resources are lifelines — offering food, cash assistance, and legal aid to many who have been unjustly displaced by these sweeps. Now more than ever, we must act with urgency and integrity to invest in programs and services that protect our most vulnerable residents.”
