LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Los Angeles County Chair Pro Tem and First District Supervisor Hilda L. Solis issued the following statement on her motion proclaiming September 16, 2025 as National Voter Registration Day: 

“Today, Los Angeles County proudly proclaims September 16, 2025 as National Voter Registration Day. This nonpartisan civic holiday serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of participating in our democracy.

With more than 800,000 eligible but unregistered residents in Los Angeles County, we have a collective responsibility to ensure that every voice is heard at the ballot box. I especially encourage those impacted by the recent wildfires to update their voter registration to ensure they continue receiving election materials without interruption.

As a County, we remain committed to removing barriers to the ballot and empowering every eligible resident to take part in shaping our future.”
